In short, the "Marketing Number" that MonitorBase assigns you is the phone number that's printed on any mail or emails sent to your MonitorBase alerts on your behalf. This has a number of benefits outlined in this article.
- The primary purpose of your Marketing Number is tracking inbound calls and text messages from consumers. This allows us to notify you of new inbound calls from your marketing, track any missed calls, and record call metrics such as response rate and call duration.
- Additionally, it has built-in protections against spam callers, which allows us to stop these from blowing up your phone, an issue that may arise if you get a phone number of your own elsewhere.
- Another major benefit is if you experience a surge in unknown or unrelated calls to your business, you can easily update the marketing number to a new one while still ensuring that all calls are forwarded to the designated number where you wish to receive inbound marketing calls. This isn't possible if the number that is used on the marketing is your direct number.
Where can I view my marketing number?
You can access your marketing information anytime by clicking on your initials in the upper right-hand corner and then selecting "Outbound Information."
Also, in this area you can update the number that your personal MonitorBase Marketing Number is forwarding to. Updates to this setting will take effect immediately even for mail that has already been printed and sent out to the consumers.
One final note on our spam caller filters, if you've received a missed call notification that doesn't appear in your call log, it indicates that the caller was identified as a spammer, and we've subsequently blocked the number. Blocked numbers are not displayed in the call logs for your convenience.
